Movie making

The Movie making team is expanding by quite a few new members. We are managing to produce a reasonably regular show - Up Close - but find it difficult to produce every week with the demands of the school wide Inquiry Topic which has every class making a movie of their own to screen in a Premier extravaganza at the Hollyood Theatre in Avondale on July 1. Our team has certainly upskilled and become much more independent in their abilities to make films themselves.
The coming months bring the opportunity to enter at least two films in this year's Moviefest film competition. This competition requires a movie to be finished and sent to Wellington by October 3. We do not, however, know the topic of the film until 6 weeks or so beforehand, so will be busy from that point onwards.
After the Movie Night has been held the Film Making Team will swing into action with new shows - particularly narrative films and documentaries.
Next year we look forward to our purpose built studio so that we can film our shows in single locations rather than wherever we can currently find space.
